
Pakistani Man Held Near India-Pakistan Border in Rajasthan, Probe Underway
A Pakistani national who allegedly crossed into Indian territory through the India-Pakistan border in Rajasthan’s Barmer district has been apprehended by the Border Security Force (BSF) and handed over to the police for further investigation, officials said on Thursday.
The accused, identified as Avesh Khan , reportedly entered Indian territory near the Ashoka border post in the Sarupe Ka Tala area . According to police officials, he was caught nearly eight kilometres inside the Indian border on Monday.
Dhanau Station House Officer (SHO) Deep Singh said the BSF detained the man on May 4 and later handed him over to the local police the following day for questioning.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Jetharam said the accused is currently being interrogated by security agencies to ascertain the motive behind his entry into India. He added that no suspicious material had been recovered from the man so far.
Officials said multiple security agencies are involved in the investigation and further interrogation is underway to determine whether the border crossing was accidental or linked to any other activity.
