Public Safety In Telangana At Risk, Says KTR
BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao on Friday alleged that law and order in Telangana has worsened under the Congress government , claiming that a rise in violent crimes has left people across the state feeling unsafe. In a post on social media platform X, KTR accused the administration of failing to maintain public security and misusing the police system for political purposes.
He charged that the police and intelligence departments, instead of concentrating on crime control, were being used to target political opponents. According to him, cases were being filed against BRS leaders, party activists and even social media users questioning the government. KTR said the diversion of police machinery towards political vendetta had weakened public safety and allowed criminal incidents to rise.
Highlighting recent crimes in Hyderabad , he referred to the murder of the wife of retired IPS officer Vinay Ranjan Ray in Prashasan Nagar, describing it as a shocking incident that exposed serious lapses in security. He pointed out that the crime took place in a supposedly secure locality, raising concerns over the effectiveness of policing in the city. KTR also mentioned the killing of a youth who was allegedly stabbed to death on a busy road in Secunderabad on Thursday night, saying such back-to-back incidents were creating panic among citizens.
The BRS leader further blamed Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy , who also holds the Home portfolio, for failing to ensure the safety of the public. Referring to recent NCRB statistics , he claimed that crimes against women and cyber offences had increased significantly in the state. KTR demanded that the government stop political harassment, strengthen the policing system and restore confidence among the people.
